Bargaining Update #3   To PSAC Local 533 Members Working at OLG Slots at Woodbine 16 January 2017 Just prior to the Christmas holiday period we met with the Employer for two (2) days. At that time, we provided each other with initial responses to our respective package of bargaining proposals tabled on October 28th, 2016. During this past week we again met with the Employer to continue the discussions necessary to make progress in negotiations.

On Wednesday, October 26th, your bargaining team met to review the initial Bargaining Survey  results and finalize  the package of  proposals for  presentation to the Employer on Friday,  October 28th. The team welcomed Sister Youden  Dhenma of Front Services to the team. Former team  member Sister Cindy De Chicchis will now be the first Alternate to the team.

The Union Bargaining Team met with the new PSAC Negotiator on Tuesday, October 11th, in order to prepare for the commencement of bargaining with the Employer, which included a review of the bargaining input that members submitted earlier in this process.  Brenda Shillington has been assigned to our group due to the unavailability of our previous Negotiator.

BASIC COURSE DETAILS MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING WHO COMPLETE BASIC WEEK-END COURSES ARE ENTITLED TO THE FOLLOWING: $50.00 per day upon successful completion. Family care expenses of $80 per day for the first dependent and $55 per day for every additional dependent.  Original receipt and Family Care Allowance Form are required.  What is not covered are family care costs that would have ordinarily been incurred during work hours had the member been at his/her place of work.

Locked out workers at the Rideau Carleton Raceway Slots (RCRS) in Ottawa will be travelling to Toronto to hold a press conference and rally at Queen’s Park on March 9 to defend their workplace pensions and fight back against the privatization of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
