National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada; a time to recognize and celebrate the history, heritage, courage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and MĂ©tis People.

PSAC Ontario encourages members to join in the celebration, learn about the history and take part in one of the many exciting events being held in our cities and communities throughout the month.

The month of June is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn about Indigenous history together. And June 21st, National Indigenous Peoples Day, is an opportunity for us to come together and celebrate the many contributions Indigenous Peoples’ have made to our society.

PSAC continues to work to protect and defend the rights of Indigenous Peoples, and through our knowledge and awareness, together we can continue to work towards reconciliation.

Michelle Woods, Indigenous Members Representative, PSAC Ontario Council
