Persons Day 2026 Hosted by the PSAC Toronto Regional Women’s Committee
October 19
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
The PSAC Toronto Regional Women’s Committee invites you to Persons Day: A Focus on Gender Equity on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
From 6:30-7:00pm, the committee will provide an update on financials and have planning discussion for the upcoming 16 Days of Activism.
At 7:00pm, we will be joined by Chandra-Li Paul, who will provide a presentation and lead a discussion recognizing Persons Day and its ongoing significance, including the current challenges and erosion of women’s rights.
Chandra-Li Paul (Chani) (she/her) is the Director of Women’s Rights at the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), where she works with unions and community partners to advance women’s rights, equity, and justice for workers. With over three decades of experience in equity and social justice, Chandra-Li has worked across industries and with diverse communities, building connections between labour, feminist, queer, and social justice movements. As a queer woman with Métis heritage, an injured worker, and a person with hidden disabilities, she brings lived experience and an intersectional lens to her work. Her work includes pay equity, childcare, gender-based violence, 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and Indigenous justice. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Ontario NDP Women and Gender Diverse Committee and sits on the Board of the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care. Chandra-Li works at the intersection of activism, organizing, and education, grounded in the belief that women’s rights are workers’ rights and that understanding our history can help us organize for the change still needed today.
We look forward to seeing you there!
