Dear Members, You’re Invited!
Are you a PSAC member aged 35 or under? Are you interested in building power for young workers in our union? Now’s your chance to get involved!
We’re excited to invite you to the first meeting of the re-launched PSAC Hamilton-Niagara Young Workers Committee. This is a space to connect with other young workers, discuss the workplace issues that matter to you, and take action to create positive change.

At this meeting, we will:
- Talk about why a Young Workers Committee is important
- Discuss the issues young workers are facing
- Elect members of our new Executive Committee (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer)
- Plan next steps and how YOU can get involved
We’ll also be joined by Stephanie Wu, the Young Worker representative on PSAC Ontario Regional Council, and we’ll be holding a raffle draw for attendees—with a chance to win gift cards and PSAC swag!
Whether you’re curious, passionate, or just want to connect with fellow young union members, we’d love to see you there.

DESCRIPTIONS OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ROLES:
Chairperson(s)
- Overseeing committee affairs between meetings.
- Liaise with the REVP, regional council representative(s), and staff, providing reports after each meeting.
- Facilitate committee meetings and ensure timely distribution of information.
- Prepare meeting agendas and call for agenda items in advance.
Vice-Chair
- Support the Chairperson(s) in their duties.
- Step in to lead meetings or represent the committee as needed.
Secretary
- Record and distribute meeting minutes.
- Maintain list of committee members.
Treasurer
- Provide financial updates at each meeting.
- Prepare and present an annual financial report to the committee, REVP, and regional council representative.
- Draft an annual budget for committee approval before submission to the regional council representative.
