DATA AI centres don’t grow in Ontario 🌳

June 27, 2026

1 - 4pm

Town Hall: Hamilton City Hall Forecourt

Hamilton residents and neighbours have launched an unprecedented fight against data centre developments in our city. At a recent municipal Committee of Adjustment meeting, more than 1600 letters were sent in to oppose a land severance application which identified a massive data centre campus as a possible land use.

Join PSAC Hamilton Area Council for a community-led town hall to discuss recent data centre proposals and some of the ways we can fight back to protect and promote clean water, healthy land, and good jobs in Hamilton and beyond.

Following an overview from Indigenous, labour, and environmental speakers, attendees are invited to join the discussion by sharing their concerns about data centres and AI.

  • When: Saturday June 27, 1:00 – 4:00 PM
  • Where: Hamilton City Hall Forecourt (71 Main St W, Hamilton)
  • Important information: Please note that this event will be outdoors. We encourage you to bring folding chairs and umbrellas for shade. The area council will update social media pages (@psachamilton) in the event of any date or location changes.

Saturday, June 27 marks a national day of action to protest AI data centres in Canada. In Hamilton, this is an opportunity to bring your concerns and raise your opposition directly to elected representatives and council candidates.

Elected representatives at all levels and candidates for the upcoming municipal election are invited to attend to listen to residents as they voice their concerns. Speakers will be limited to non-elected and non-candidate community members.

Agenda:

  • 1:00 – 2:00 PM: Speakers & calls to action
  • 2:00 – 4:00 PM: Public participation
