Ontario: Introduction to Duty to Accommodate (VIRTUAL: Sat Feb 1/25)

Introduction to Duty to Accommodate is a must for Local Officers and other workplace representatives. You will learn what the law says about the Duty to Accommodate and how this law is applied in the workplace. These rights and our ability to enforce these rights have serious ramifications for the Members, the Union, and the Employer.

Learning Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Examine the basic principles of the Duty to Accommodate
  • Understand the legislation and jurisprudence that created the current context for our work on the Duty to Accommodate
  • Explore the employer’s obligations, the union’s role and the rights and responsibilities of workers

Open to: All members in good standing represented by the Thunder Bay Regional Office, Sudbury Regional Office, Kingston Regional Office, London Regional Office, and Toronto Regional Office.

Course Delivery: This course will be delivered over one (1) day. Please read the date and time carefully.

Loss of Salary: Eligible loss of salary reimbursement will be paid to members attending the Politics for Everyone, during hours in which they were scheduled to work. Any eligible loss of salary will be reimbursed upon confirmation of full attendance and completion of the course and in accordance with the applicable PSAC policy.
