Thunder Bay RO: Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) LEVEL 1 – Rights & Obligations – (VIRTUAL – Sat, December 13 – Sunday, December 14, 2025)

Level 1 provides front-line advocacy skills to union members. Participants will receive an insight into the operations of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, as well as an understanding of the rights and obligations of injured workers. At the end of the training, participants will be able to assist injured workers in the steps of filing claims, completing forms, receiving benefits and service entitlements, and accident prevention protocols. 

Open to: All Ontario Region members in good standing. Of particular interest to Shop Stewards, Local Executive Members, Health and Safety Committee Members and Injured Workers.

Saturday, December 13, 2025 – 9:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday, December 14, 2025 – 9:00am to 5:00pm

Loss of Salary: Eligible loss of salary reimbursement will be paid to members attending the course Politics for Everyone, during hours in which they were scheduled to work. Any eligible loss of salary will be reimbursed upon confirmation of full attendance and completion of the course and in accordance with the applicable PSAC policy.

Please note, the Per Diem Policy will be in effect. Upon successful completion of the course, members will be reimbursed as per approved policy. The Course must be completed in its entirety before the per diem is issued.
