One of the critical support mechanisms identified in the AFN Policy is:
Possibility of quarterly meetings with other Facilitators from the same Regional Office area.
In March 2000, in the GTA and Hamilton / Niagara Regions, the REO initiated regular meetings of the Regional AFN. These meetings include:
- Consultation regarding the annual Regional Education Plan
- Opportunity to meet the respective Regional Education
- Committe Representatives
- Opportunity to network and share experiences with other AFs
- Opportunity for skills development
- Access to newly developed educationals
- Input for the Annual AF Seminar
- Strategies for special PSAC initiatives including Policy 23A and UCS
In January 2002, the Toronto RO AFN began to hold strategic
planning sessions to further their goal of delivering workplace-based training. One
of the identified Priorities of the Toronto RO AFN is an Orientation Kit for New
Members.
