PSAC  Pizza & Pop – Labour Day Celebrations - Peterborough

PSAC has approximately 180 members from various components located in the Federal Building in the 4th floor lunchroom @ 185 King St so to say THANK YOU for the year round services they provide a PIZZA & POP lunch was held on Wednesday, Sept 14th.

Traditionally, many of our members have been unable to attend the Peterborough District Labour Day’s annual picnic that our dollars/prizes donated by the PSAC  have helped support for many years mainly due to the fact of when it falls – the last weekend before school – may just don’t have time to attend.

This year a decision was made that during this time of economic unrest that the members themselves could use a “perk” and an alternate date and location was chosen to celebrate Labour Day so that a higher number of members could be reached.

A choice was made to celebrate where we work – after all what better way to celebrate Labour Day than at work – each location , Peterborough, Lindsay & Cobourg  had members participating.

Even then not everyone was on staff to enjoy but for those that did each member  was able to enjoy  2 slices of pizza and a pop. Any difference not covered by the PSAC was made up from the components themselves having the most members attending .   An additional thank you has to go to our very own CEIU local and well as UTE  for doing so.

Alan, from Dominion's here in Peterborough was very supportive of this endeavour and made sure everything arrived piping hot .  UTE had a wheeled cart ready to ensure that all the pizza's arrived to our 4th floor destination without delay........and of course our own  CEIU VP- Tammy Davis  just happened to have a cooler that would hold 7 days worth of food/drink and hauled in it for our use stocking it with a variety of cold drinks.

Not everyone was snapped enjoying the Labour Day treat as you had to be fast with the flash and this photographer was one of the CEIU executive  "yellow birds"  which also included Colleen Webb and Nancy Johnson in their yellow Think Public T-shirts  busy dishing out pizza as well.

On behalf of CEIU, UTE,  CSC, PAROLE we want to say THANK YOU PSAC for supporting your members in the field ………………..

President
