Joint Learning Program Facilitator Orientation Session
September 22-26, 2008

The Joint Learning Program (JLP) is currently recruiting both management and union facilitators for an upcoming facilitator orientation training session scheduled for September 22-26, 2008. This five day session will be held in Toronto and will introduce and expand on participant's knowledge and skills of facilitation techniques and theory. Course content will be based on the experiential learning model and adult learning principles.

The facilitator training session opens participants to five subject areas relating to labour-management relations, which are:

1. Understanding and Interpreting Your Collective Agreement
2. Union-Management Consultation
3. Anti-Harassment
4. Respecting Differences Anti-Discrimination
5. Employment Equity

Participation is funded by the JLP, with the exception of salary entitlements, which will be absorbed by the Department or Agency.

The Joint Learning Program (JLP) is intended to provide learning opportunities to union members and their managers to improve labour relations in the workplace; specifically, in areas where both union and management have significant roles and responsibilities, and for which the employer does not already have a legal obligation to provide training. It highlights how bargaining agent and employer can work together to modernize and improve labour relations in the workplace The JLP is funded out of an agreement between Treasury Board and the Public Service Alliance of Canada during collective bargaining in the fall of 2004.

. Enter your email address and complete and save the application

Once you save the information it will be forwarded to the Regional Field Coordinators for screening and selection; further information regarding the program and application process is available on the site.
