Education Program in Sudbury

  Greetings,   The PSAC Regional Advanced Workers Health & Safety Course (Level 1) is being held on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at 8:30am, ending on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 4:30pm at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale (6750 Mississauga Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 2L3). (See Attached Call-Out Letter) This WHSC Level 1 course is open to PSAC members who are either members of the Joint Health & Safety Committees or are workplace Health & Safety Representatives. The course is open to members from both the provincial and the federal labour jurisdiction.

Convention Prep & Procedures: Conventions are the supreme governing body for the union. It is the place where delegates elect their leadership, adopt budgets, and set priorities and policy for the next three years. This course is designed to assist members wanting to learn more about democratic participation at Convention.

Local Officers Training (LOT): Gives Local Officers essential knowledge for upholding their Local responsibilities and building a strong union. Participants learn: how an effective Local functions; roles and responsibilities of the Local Executive; how Executives can work well as a team, engage members, and deal effectively with management. Talking Union Basics (TUB): Introduces members to the PSAC and prepares them for more advanced union education. It provides an historical and structural overview of the union, introduces participants to the collective agreement and gives them a chance for hands-on practice in problem-solving.
